Hastings Halloween events are always spooktacular fun for all the family and 2019 is no exception. Here are five things to do this Halloween half term.
Creepy Caves
Our very own St Clements caves play host to this spine-tingling, subterranean spooky time this October half term! Find Gary the ghost’s haunting friends in the low-lit caves, enjoy some Halloween colouring in with the little ones and even design your own haunted mansion. Hastings Castle
There’s something about the dark nights and spooky times around Halloween that make it a great time of year for going back in time and indulging in a bit of history. If you’re coming along to our Creepy Caves event, why not make a day of it with a trip to Hastings Castle, Britain’s first Norman castle, which was built by William the Conqueror in 1067. There are lots of spooky stories concerning suspicions goings-on around the Castle and the Caves – maybe this Halloween you’ll experience your own.
Spooky Battle Abbey
Creepy crafts and a wicked witch hunt await families at Battle Abbey this year, where there is also an all-day fancy dress competition. Visitors are invited to don their best wizardy or witch apparel to be in with a chance of winning.
Halloween Hacker
Fancy taking part in a murder mystery on a massive scale? This event at Hastings True Crime Museum might be right up your street. With a killer on the loose and loads of fiendish clues to decipher, families will be tasked with examining crime scenes and noting down anything that might help crack the case!
Hastings Voodoo Festival
Halloween is all about the weird and wonderful, but this event looks weirder than most! The Hastings Voodoo Festival, brought to you by the same team of people behind the annual Fat Tuesday event, will feature a procession of the living dead following a coffin through the streets of the old town. Not for the faint-hearted!
